This chair was loosely based on the ancient Mediterranean X chair, from a time when the Syrian Empire stretched from Spain almost to the Chinese boarder.

It was commissioned for a bedroom where chairs so often become overnight clothes hangers.

The ample arms, slatted like a linen cupboard, are ideal for this and the seat will accommodate one, or two cosily as they pull on socks, or tie laces.
